It has only been few days after a neo-fascist madly shooting in the streets of our city, targeting just black people. Is has only been a few days after thousands of people decided at all costs to shatter the silence, reversing the diktat imposed by an arrogant state power.
It has been a short time. A new story came out. This story allow the movements to be back in the limelight denying the square to neo-fascits and disrupting the already terrible election campaign.
Through this story it has been transformed the whole cultural and communicative framework in which was established the perception of racist culture, xenophobic propaganda, absence of opinions and security as negation of freedom.
Somebody argues this story is magical. Yet it’s not. Thanks to the boost of the movements, which felt the need to react and to not be oppressed anymore, a concrete way of expression emerged through the independence of the movements.
Actually, what is extraordinary, is the natural strength which the movements express when they are real and leading actors of their path. A long struggling period where them act in full awareness of changing points of view. Everybody faced the importance of last mobilization when each of us could taste the real power of the movements to come into prominence.
While 30 000 people were demonstrating in Macerata, many of them talked about “a breath of air”, somebody even said the “the air was changing”. We read the “Macerata’s air” was leading the antifascist and antiracist demos in the whole country. We know this air: more streets it runs through, more it get the shape of the movements it meets. The air become collective wind. Despite the putrid air in our cities, there is still somebody who help this wind to blow, from Susa Valley to Salento’s beaches, crossing huge and small conflicts, the imperceptible wind kept on blowing.
After the demonstration of the 10 February many asked us what the next steps will be to keep alive the path begun in Macerata. The only answer possible can be the result of a share and collective reflection through everybody who embrace this journey.
For that reasons a common meeting of movements will take place on the 10th of March in the Marche region.The movements have the power to change things because they are already a change which is taking place right now, inside and outside their own. They will change the future because they are strong enough to change the present as well.
We would have liked to arrange it in Macerata but, after the earthquake in 2016, many large rooms could’t be used anymore. Therefore we thought about Ancona in order to make it easier for everyone.
